Question 7

(a)   calculate the percentage moisture content of a piece of timber which has a wet weight of 45g and dry weight of 40g.

(b)   Draw the plan of each of the following types of roof:
        (i)   gable end;
       (ii)   hipped end.

(c)    Sketch the cross-section of a 3-ply plywood.


Observation

Some candidates were able to:
-     calculate the percentage moisture content of a piece of timber which has a wet weight of 45g and dry weight of 40g;
-     Sketch the cross-section of a 3-ply plywood

However, most of them failed to draw the plan of each of the following types of roof:

  1. gable end;
  2. hipped end.
