Candidates were required to

2. State characteristics of each of the following:
3. man-made fibres;
4. natural fibres.
5. Mention finishing treatments given to cotton fabrics.
6. Explain the finishing treatments mentioned in 4 (c) above.

Candidates were unable to answer correctly question 4 and performed woefully. Many of the candidates could not differentiate between synthetic fibres and regenerated fibres; state characteristics of man-made fibres and natural fibres, mention finishing treatments given to cotton fabrics; explain the finishing treatment mentioned in 4(c) above.
