This question was popular among the candidates. Most of the candidates were able to give examples of natural fish food and artificial fish feed ingredients, give examples of energy and protein yielding field ingredients as well as define fish pond management as required in 5(a-c) but they could not describe spot feeding and automated feeding as required in 5(d).

The expected answers were:

5 (d)    Description of feeding methods

(i)         Spot feeding
Fish are fed at a particular place and time in the pond. Once it is feeding time, the fish will all cluster at the place to be fed.

  (ii)        Automated feeding
The feeders are mechanically operated. At specific time intervals, the device drops specific quantities of feed into water.
