(2) State two uses of marking gauge.

Observation

Most of the candidates attempted this question and responded well.Candidates were expected to state two uses of marking gauge. The solution is stated below:

Uses of marking gauge

(a) inscribing lines parallel to a surface;

(b) gauging wood to a required width;

(c) gauging wood to required thickness;

(d) marking out of joint;

(e) marking mouldings e.g. chamfer and bevels.
