The report stated that majority of the candidates’ performance indicated poor coverage of the syllabus and inadequate preparations for the examination. Majority of them were reported not to have answered questions on Functions, probability, Vectors and Mechanics. Majority of the candidates also showed poor understanding of Histograms with unequal class intervals. Candidates’ weakness was also observed in their inability to adhere to the rubrics of the question as well as the use of correct units.

      Suggested Remedies

(1) Teachers should intensify their efforts on these areas of candidates’ weakness during classroom instructions.
(2) Candidates are encouraged to study past WASSCE question papers while preparing for the examination.
