(c) Explain four ways in which groundnut cultivation has contributed to the economy of Nigeria.
Observation
This question was not popular among the candidates and their performance was a bit above average in the (a) aspect of the question. However, they did not perform so well in the (b) and (c) aspects of the question. The ways in which groundnut has contributed to the economy of Nigeria include:
-employment
-provision of food
-source of income to farmers
-foreign exchange earnings
- raw materials for industries
-development of towns
- market for ancillary industries
