The question was very straightforward and popular among the candidates.  Candidates demonstrated a reasonable knowledge of the demands of the question.

Unfortunately, candidates’ overall performance was not fantastic because some of them confused the functions of Alaafin with Oyomesi.
They also failed to show the area where there was overlap between the functions of Alaafin and Oyomesi.   This shortcoming robbed them of substantial marks.  The overall candidates’ performance in the question was fairly good.

The Oyomesi:

-           took part in the selection of a new Alaafin;
-           initiated laws;
-           acted as checks on the powers of Oba e.g. removal of Alaafin from office ;
-           ensured implementation of policies ;
-           performed religious functions ;
