Some candidates could not state the function of the plasma membrane. Many candidates could also not direct transmission of communicable diseases.


The expected answers are:

  1. Functions of the plasma membrane
    • - It gives the cell its immunological identity/it improves the immune system of the cells.
    • - it regulates the movement of materials/substances in and out of cell/semipermeable
    • - protects the cell content
    • - defines the outer limits of the cell
  2.  

  3. Description of direct transmission of communicable diseases
    The pathogens of diseases infect a healthy person, directly without an intermediate agent. It can take place by various means such as direct contact with the infected person, animal, or droplets.
