This question was a very popular one and most of the candidates that attempted it performed very well. It demanded the candidates to explore the social, political, economic and cultural implications of inter-group relations for the people of Nigeria. Most of the candidates understood this question and answered it correctly. They explained some of the following points and scored good marks.

1. It encouraged interaction among people of different geographical regions;
2. inter-group relations promoted cultural diffusion;
3. it promoted trade among the various geographical regions;
4. people from various geographical regions acquired arts and crafts skills from one another;
5. wars were fought for various reasons among neighbouring states etc.
