Candidates' Weakness and Suggested Remedies

Candidates’ weaknesses were observed in these areas:

1. inability to explain the proverb given as a composition topic before writing;
   
2. inability to adhere to rubrics;
3. inability to follow formal letter writing format.
   

      SUGGESTED REMEDIES

1. Igbo teachers should continually lay emphasis on the rubrics to their students i.e. how to choose questions to avoid answering more from the same section.
2. Teachers should lay enough emphasis on the structure of different kinds of letter writing and their formats.
3. Candidates should endeavour to interpret the rubrics before attempting any question.
