Quite a large percentage of candidates did not attempt this question which required them to write on Ibn Khaldun with emphasis on his contribution to Islam. It becomes evident here that the personality of Ibn Khaldun was not known to many of the candidates.  A few of the candidates who chose the question lost some marks for being unable to write enough or at all on his biography before writing on his contribution to Islam on which they did not have enough points
