Majority of the candidates who answered the question dwelt mainly on the translation aspect without adequate concentration on the commentary.  For the three verses, major critical and difficult stages of the Prophet’s life were examined, such as when he became an orphan, his life before guidance or prophethood and his life in abject poverty.  As pointed out by some candidates, the verses form a reminder of various previous mercies of  Allah on the Prophet (S.A.W) and major stages of life which everybody must pass through. Candidates’ performance in this section was only fair.
