Question 2

Describe how Muhammad (S. A. W) became a prophet

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Observation

This simple but historical question was on the beginning of Muhammad’s (S.A.W.) prophethood. The question was adjudged by Chief Examiners as being the simplest of all the questions.  Majority of the candidates went for this question with a record of high marks which enhanced their performance.
His reserved life in quiet places such as the Cave of Hira for meditation and retreat, the first visit of Angel Jibril and the start of the revelation i.e. the first five verses of Suratul ‘Alaq (Q. 96) were salient points which the candidates identified.
