Majority of the candidates that attempted this question did not answer it well. It was evident from their poor performance that they answered the question because it was compulsory. Some of the points expected of them include the support which the Prophet enjoyed among the Muhajirun; the co-operation and the assistance of the Ansar; unity between the Aws and the Khazraj and the constitution which the Prophet initiated. Other points include the Prophet’s reliance on divine guidance, victory over the Quraysh, freedom of worship in Madinah and the existence of monotheistic faiths.
