How is African life presented in the play?

 
Observation

The following points were expected from the candidates among others:

  • The playwright’s use of satire to make Mrs. Borofosem and her faction condemn African life;
  • The assumption of Mrs. Borofosem and her faction that European ways of doing things are always right;
  • Mrs. Borofosem’s influence on characters like Miss Tsiba, Okadu etc.
  • Mr. Onyimdze’s faction and their contrary view about African ways of life which is presented mainly through Onyimdze’s winning of the court case for Nana Katawerwa.

Most of the candidates that attempted the question gave the required points and scored good marks.
