This was a popular question. However, many candidates concentrated on the characters of Yaremi and the three widows. Only a few of them wrote on the attitude of Kufi women towards their roles in the novel.

The following points should be well developed by the candidates:

• Kufi women know that men are their masters.
• They work hard to keep their place with dignity
• They are treated harshly during widowhood.
• Their belief in the change of role hereafter.
• Yaremi’s rejection of the system is phenomenal.
