(a)        List any seven common causes of fire  explosion.
      (b)        State  any four precautions observed in preventing fire explosion.    
    
Observation
Most of the candidates that attempted the question answered averagely. Though, the candidates listed the materials instead of the causes of fire explosion. They were expected to provide the following answers in order to score good marks:
(a)
-           Naked light/flame.
    -           Sparks from electricity.
    -           Smoking in flammable environment.
    -           Poor handling of flammable materials.
    -           Poor storage of flammable materials.             
    -           Screw/lid of flammable materials  container not well tightened.
    -           Spillage of flammable materials on  the ground/floor.
    -           Rag/cloth used for graining oil left  in squeezed position.
    -           Ignoring safety/warning signs.
    -           Poor handling of burning off  equipment.
    -           Excessive heating of  liquid/appliances. 
    
    (b)                   
 -           Do  not handle flammable materials near naked light/flame.
    -           Take from store only the quantity  required for immediate use.
    -           Do not store flammable materials in  open or plastic containers.
    -           Replace screw tops as quickly as  possible.
    -           Return empty containers to store.
    -           Observe all safety/warning signs.
    -           Provide fire fighting equipment.
    -           Replace damaged/faulty electrical  fittings.
