Photography Paper 3 WASSCE (SC), 2017

Candidates' Weaknesses

Candidates’ weaknesses as reflected in their work included:
(1)        Inability to understand photographic composition
Over the years candidates have not been able to understand composition as it applies to photography.
(2)        Black and white processing
What the candidates know about black and white appears shallow and incoherent. They need to understand that there is a difference between generalized knowledge that teaches them how a black and white film is processed into negative or a black and white print is made with an enlarger and being able to explain in a simple step- by- step procedure.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES TO OVERCOME CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

  1. (1)       Qualified teachers should be employed to teach the candidates.
    (2)       Recommended textbook should be made available for use in schools.
