The question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fairly good. However, in part (b)(ii) candidates could not list two phases in a 100m race in athletics. 
In part (b)(iii) candidates could not describe the running technique in middle distance races.

• The head is kept steady and straight
• The elbows are slightly bent
• Arms move close to the body
• The fingers/fists are slightly clenched
