Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates, and the candidates’ performance was good.

However, in part (a)(ii), candidates could not outline the procedures involved in the execution of astride vault in gymnastics.  In part (c), candidates could not mention the two groups of activities in gymnastics.

The expected answers were as follows:

(a)(ii)   Procedure for the execution for astride vault

  1. Performer takes a short approach run;
  2. Places palms on the box/apparatus/explained;
  3. Makes a double take-off/takes off on both feet;
  4. Opens and swings leg sideways/wide apart
  5. Brings legs together in front of the body;
  6. Lands of both feet

 (b)      Groups of Activities in Gymnastics

Floor/agility activities/mat work;

Apparatus/Vaulting activities
