Candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:

• demonstrate rubrics in a triple jump
• execute falling shots
• execute low service in badminton;
• perform side vaults;
• perform hand stand showing the stance, take-off, execution, body position and recovery;
• full interest in practicals.

The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:

• Physical education teachers should keep abreast with the new rules in sports and games;
• allotment of more time on school time-table for physical education will help the students to acquire sports skills;
• teachers should concentrate more on teaching both practical and theoretical aspects
• provision of sports equipment and facilities in schools
• government should support schools in making sports equipment and facilities available for school children
