  2. rear elevation.

  1. Draw to a scale of 1:50, the section on plane P – P.

Observation

Candidates were asked to draw floor plan, rear elevation and section on plane P – P of the given bungalow.

Most candidates attempted this question and performed above average.
Howerver, some of the candidates could not draw the correct roof pattern and
interpret the cross section of the building correctly.

Candidates were expected to do the following:

Floor Plan

(i)         draw to scale 1:100 (19500 x 9900 ± 10);
(ii)        draw the walls (outline);
(iii)       draw 2 verandahs;
(iv)       draw 2 beams;
(v)        draw 22 windows;

  1. draw 15 doors ;
  2. draw garage door;
  3. draw 3 wardrobes;
  4. draw the cutting plane P – P;
  5. identify 14 apartments;
  6. write floor plan;
  7. draw neatly.

Candidates were expected to:

Rear Elevation

(i)         draw to scale 1:100 (19500 x 9900 ± 10);
(ii)        draw the ground line;
(iii)       draw floor finish (dotted line);
(iv)       draw 4 walls;
(v)        draw 11 conventional sliding windows;
(vi)       draw the flush wooden door;
(vii)      draw the ceiling and roof (4 horizontal lines);
(viii)     draw fascia board and eaves (4 vertical lines);
(ix)       write rear elevation;
(x)        draw neatly.

The solution is shown below:
