Observation
Candidates were asked to make a neat freehand pictorial sketch of a twist drill. Most of the candidates that attempted this question could not draw properly with the lip, land and flute in place.
Candidates were expected to do the following:
FREEHAND SKETCH OF THE PICTORIAL VIEW OF A TWIST DRILL
(i) sketch the pictorial view;
(ii) sketch for resemblance;
(iii) sketch to proportion;
(iv) sketch the lip;
(v) sketch the lip angle ;
(vi) sketch the land;
(vii) sketch the flute;
(viii) sketch the shank parallel/taper.
