A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

Candidates’ weaknesses were shown in the following areas:

• Proper use of drawing instrument;
• Most of the candidates did not attempt the mechanical drawing;
• use of conventional symbols;
• proper application of principles;
• effective use of drawing instrument;
• differentiating between freehand sketch and drawing with instrument;
• freehand sketch of twist drill..

SUGGESTED REMEDY FOR OVERCOMING THESE WEAKNESSES

Candidates are hereby advised to prepare adequately for the examination and improve on the identified weak areas.

Standard studio should be provided in schools and teachers should be trained frequently.
