Design a book cover titled Dictionary of Art Terms edited by EmekaTunde Ahmed. Published by IkotEkpene Graphic Society.

Observation
Question 1 was well attempted by the candidates. The performance was very good.They were expected to respond to the question thus:
A. LAYOUT
1. PLANNING
(i) Appropriate representation of the book showing the cover and the spine design.
(ii) Choice of suitable typeface.
2. COMPOSITION
(i) Proper utilization of space.
(ii) Effective arrangement of the title, author, publisher with illustrations.
B. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY
(i) Ability to show the three sides of the book: the front, spine and back to size specifications.
(ii) Use of appropriate illustration and skillful construction of letters.
(iii) Skillful use of materials and instruments.
(iv) Ability to incorporate effectively the book titled, DICTIONARY OF ART TERMS.
C. COLOUR
(i) Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.
(ii) Effective mixture, application and distribution of colours
to specification.
D. SUITABILITY
(i) Ability to produce an effective book cover design.
(ii) Relevance of the design: Bold and Attractive.
E. ORIGINALITY
(i) Uniqueness of the design.
(ii) Overall visual effect.
