OBSERVATION

  1. What is syllable? Almost all the candidates that picked this question answered it well and scored good marks.
  1. Mention the types of syllable structure i.e. vowel only, consonant + vowel, and syllabic nasal. Most candidates did not understand this part of the question.

(d)    Stating the syllabic patterns of the given words. Most candidates mistook this for the number of syllables in the given words. They divided the given words into syllable instead of stating the syllabic pattern e.g. ‘pàkátà’ (pà-ká-tà) instead of (KF-KF-KF)
