Observation

This question was attempted by a few candidates that performed averagely. The candidates were expected to answer in this manner:

A.        DRAWING                          

(i)         Effective drawing of figures and objects at the riverside.                             

(ii)        Emphasis on use of perspective and proportion on all elements.                  

B.        COMPOSITION                              
(i)         Suitable arrangement of figures and objects to achieve balance, rhythm and variety using watercolour. 
(ii)        Judicious use of space provided (at least three quarters of the paper).         
(iii)       Should use a suitable background, depicting riverside.        
                                                                                                                       

C.        COLOUR                                         

(i)         Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.                                            

(ii)        Proper use of watercolour to achieve tonal range and texture.                     

(iii)       Effective mixing and application of colours.                         

D.        INTERPRETATION                      

(i)         Visual representation of a girl washing clothes at the riverside scene in watercolour. 

E.        ORIGINALITY                               

(i)       Overall visual effect of the work.  

(ii)        Personalized style in the use of medium.
