The question was fairly popular with candidates. Majority of the candidates answered it very well and scored very high marks.
However, a few weak candidates misinterpreted the question for aims and objectives of the UNO. This eroded them of good marks. On the whole the overall candidates’ performance was average. The very good candidates did not fail to state some of the following benefits:
- member states obtain loans and aids from the World Bank and IMF to solve their economic problems;
- member states benefit from technical assistance programmes;
- member states could obtain help for Health programme on immunization;
- member states benefit from United Nations Educational programmes;
- West Africans are employed by UNO;
- involvement in caring for refugees and displaced people, etc.
