.This was a very popular question and was well  attempted by majority  of the  candidates.  Very good number of  candidates did justice to the question by identifying enough points to score  very good marks.  Candidates’ overall  performance in it was very good.
                    However, a few weak candidates could not  score good marks in the question because they failed to differentiate external  factors from other factors hence they went off the point.   Some of the points the good candidates  mentioned to score high marks included:
                    
                    
                    
                      - the declaration of Atlantic  Charter;
- anti-colonial posture of the  United Nations Organization;
- condemnation of colonialism by  British labour party;
- the defeat of Britain by Japan;
- the independence of India in  1947 motivated the nationalists struggle, etc.
