This was a very popular question and attempted by almost all candidates. Majority of those that attempted it knew its requirements and so they scored high marks.
Candidates listed economic, occupational, professional, religious and educational pressure groups and they were given their full marks. The overall candidates’ performance in the question was good. Some of the points listed by candidates in the (b) part included:
- influencing government policies and programmes;
- acting as watchdogs on government;
- contributing to the economic growth and development;
- educating their members and the public;
- providing welfare services to their members, etc.
