Observation

This was a popular question. The performance of the candidates who answered it was good as they understood its demands. However, some candidates did not score good marks in part (b) because of skimpy answers. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:

(a) (i) To promote unity in the country;

(ii) To provide equal opportunity for all Nigerians;
(iii) Provision of employment opportunities for all;
(iv) Preservation of the nation’s resources;
(v)  To work for a secular state which favours democracy and rule of law;
(vi)  To fight against poverty, diseases and ignorance;
(vii) To work towards high quality education at all levels;
(viii) To preserve the constitution of Nigeria, promote and sustain its unity;
(ix)  To re-order the national economic priorities of Nigeria.

(b) (i)  Through special levy;

(ii) Through federal government/FEDECO grants for political parties;
(iii) Donations from within and outside the party;
(iv) Money realized from the sales of the party emblems, literature, badges, shirts etc.
(v) Membership dues;
(vi) Fund raising/launching;
