Observation

This was another popular question and many of the candidates who answered it did not performed very well. They misinterpreted the question and gave wrong answers resulting in low marks.

The candidates were expected to give the following points as their answers.

• Bishop Ajayi Crowther took part in three Niger expeditions of 1841, 1854 and 1957.
• He opened the CMS Mission at Abeokuta with the help of Rev. Townsend in 1846.
• In 1854 he founded the Niger Mission.
• He was involved in evangelism.
• He developed alphabets for some languages e.g. Igbo language.
• He opened mission schools where writing and arithmetic were introduced.  
• He collaborated with other Christian denominations to ensure religious harmony.
