Outline any five methods used by the nationalists to achieve independence for Nigeria.
Observation
This was a popular question and well attempted by most of the candidates. The performance of the candidates who answered it was good as they really understood its demands. However, those who failed were giving skimpy answers.
The candidates were expected to give the following points as answers to the question.
Organisation of rallies and political enlightenment programmes by political parties e.g. Action Group of Nigeria, National Council of Nigeria and Cameroun, Northern People’s Congress, etc.
Collaboration with nationalist bodies and individuals from other countries.
Creation of National awareness and pride in Nigerian culture.
Agitation for constitutional reforms.
Participated in constitutional conferences.
Formation of trade unions.
Formation of political parties
