This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. In part (a)(i)
and (ii), many candidates correctly mentioned the order of service in doubles game in tennis part
of the court common to both badminton game and tennis game and in (a)(iii) many candidates
correctly stated instances when a player wins a point in a game of badminton. In part (b)
candidates could not correctly explain the chop and the stance as terms used in table tennis game.
In part (c) many candidates could not correctly state duties of an umpire in a game of table
tennis.
The expected answers were as follows:
(a)(i) The order of service in doubles game in tennis
- One of the pairs of the side that won the toss serves first or receive
- one of the opposing pairs serves the second game
- the partner of the player who served first serves in the third game
