Many candidates attempted this question and  performed very well in  parts (b) and (c).
In part (a) candidates gave wrong answers such  as it is a controllable diet, does not contain fat, it adds to an athlete’s  flexibility, athletes will become abnormal with power, diet will give athlete  headache.
                    The expected answers were as follows:  
                    (a)        Reasons  why a pre-game diet should contain more carbohydrate
              -     Best source of immediate energy
              -     Easily digested
              -    The end product is easily excreted in the  form of carbon dioxide and sweat
