Weakness and Remedies
Candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:
- state the use of the starting block during athletics meet;
- name circular races in athletics;
- state similarities between long jump and triple jump events in athletics;
- list features of a long distance race;
- mention the nutrients other than carbohydrate which should be in a diet of an athlete;
- mention types of intra-mural sports.;
- explain aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration;
- list possible movements that occur at the shoulder joint;
- mention types of bones in the human body.
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:
- early exposure of students to practical skills;
- familiarization of candidates with the syllabus;
- coverage of the teaching syllabus before examination commences;
- candidates should understand the demands of the questions before responding to them.
