Observation
This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. Candidates
could not skillfully demonstrate body position, hand position, hand placement, head position roll over and recovery while performing forward roll, this is due to non-participation in practical activity in the school.
The expected answers are as follows:
Activity 8: Forward roll
1. The activity will be on the basis of process evaluation only.
2. Three trials are allowed and the best trial is recorded as the score.

3. All performance will be judged according to the following rubrics:
Body Position:
(i) Squatting/squat position
(ii) toes and knees pointing forward
Hand Placement:
(i) Hands/palms are placed flat on the floor
(ii) Hands/palms are shoulder width apart
(iii) Fingers pointing forward
Head Position:
(i) head tucked in/chin touching the chest
(ii) look through the things
Roll over
(i) tilt forward/transfer body weight on to the hands
(ii) make contact with the floor with the hunch of the back.
Recovery
(i) finish in a standing position
(ii) maintain balance/no staggering.
