Candidates' Weakness

The following reasons contributed to some inadequacies observed in the performance of the candidates:

• Spelling errors
• Ambiguous responses to some questions
• Poor descriptive ability
• Inability to define terms accurately
• Lack of understanding of some basic business terms
• Inability to differentiate between materials and tools

The suggested remedies were as follows:

• All areas of the syllabus should be adequately taught by the teachers
• More practical work is encouraged in schools;
• Candidates should observe their industrial attachment scheme as recommended in the syllabus;
• The need for Government and other stake holders to make available relevant resource materials and textbooks.
• Qualified and well trained personnel should be recruited to teach the students
