This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very poor.  In part (a) candidates could not correctly mention sources of water soluble vitamins from plants.  

In part (b)(i) candidates could not correctly list sources of chlorine in human diet and in (b)(ii) candidates could not correctly also state functions of sodium in humans.

The expected answers are as follows:

-     pawpaw
-     vegetable/green leaves/tomatoes
-     banana

               (b)(i)  SOURCES OF CHLORINE IN HUMAN DIET

                      -    common/table salt
                      -    natural foods/fish/sea foods/named
                      -    treated water/tap water
 
              (ii)    FUNCTIONS OF SODIUM IN HUMANS
         
                         -    essential in blood and tissue
                         -    regulates body fluid balance
                         -    assists in transmission of impulse in nerves sensory cells and muscles
                         -    for normal cell membrane permeability
