This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was good.  In part (a) candidates correctly mentioned materials useful in the treatment of complicated fracture.  In part (b) candidates correctly stated agencies involved in First Aid Services.

In part (c) could not correctly state characteristics of bleeding.  Only few mentioned characteristics of blood such as bright red, contain platelets, clotting instead of characteristics of bleeding.

  1. CHARACTERISTICS OF BLEEDING

-      swelling of the affected part
     -      cold skin at touch
     -      spurting of blood from the affected part
     -      shallow breathing/difficulty in breathing
     -      severe pains
     -      rapid pulse
     -      shock/fainting may occur/dizziness/paleness
     -      lameness/numbness in case of severe bleeding/unable to walk.
