This was a popular question and most candidates that attempted it performed well. The question was direct and straightforward without any ambiguity. Indeed, some candidates were able to highlight the benefits Nigeria derived from the Commonwealth of Nation, yet, their points were not Nigeria specific i.e they were not related to the Nigeria situation. To score good marks, they were expected to discuss the following:
                    (a)        (i)         To have and maintain close relationship with other
                           member states.
                      (ii)        To cooperate with other member states in the fields of education, health, culture, technology and sports.
                      (iii)       To ensure her sovereignty and that of other member states is respected.
                                                  (iv)       To help promote peace among other member states.
                                                  (v)        To continue to maintain ties especially with Britain as
                                      her former colonial master and other member countries.
                                                  (vi)       To advance parliamentary democracy inherited from
                                                              Britain.
                    (b)        (i)         Nigeria has enjoyed commonwealth scholarships which
                      allowed  her citizens to study in Britain and other    commonwealth countries;
                      (ii)        Nigeria has gained technical assistance in the field
              education, health, infrastructure  and sports;
                      (iii)       Nigeria has participated in many  commonwealth games thereby encouraging friendship with other member countries;
                      (iv)       Nigeria has established intimate foreign  relationship with other member countries;
