Question 4

Comment on the agreement between Anlugbua and Lawumi to punish the allied forces.

This question required candidates to recount the situation that leads to the destruction of Owu city and how the god (Anlugbua) and goddess (Lawumi) are affected when the allied forces destroy the city. Lawumi confesses to her son that she uses the allied forces to destroy Owu people for their arrogance, disobedience and disrespectfulness to their ancestor. They agree to punish the allied forces for desecrating the shrines of the gods. The duo solicits the cooperation of other gods to destroy the allied forces on their return journey. This shows that human beings are pawns in the hands of the gods.

The question was poorly attempted by candidates.
