    (a)       List four materials required for the construction of a pin-hole camera.

    (b)       Mention three parts of the pin-hole camera.

    (c)       State four contributions of the pin-hole camera to the development of photography.


Observation

 

 

A practical question which required the candidates to list/mention/state the materials for the construction, three parts and the contributions to the development of photography of the pin-hole camera. Only few candidates attempted the question and scored low marks. The candidates performance was poor. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question:


    • Metal can/box;

    • Straw board/plywood/cardboard;

    • black tape;

    • ruler;

    • knife;

    • pin;

    • black paint;

    • gum

    • aluminium foil.


    • Pinhole/light opening;

    • Light-tight Casing/box;

    • Image board/back screen.

    • Contributions
    • Exposed the concept of image formation;

    • development of optical lenses;

    • development of camera;

    • development of sensitive materials e.g. films, papers and sensors;

    • development of photographic chemicals;

    • establishment of photographic industries e.g.

    • recording historical events;

    • educational teaching and learning materials
