This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was good. 

In part (a) (i) candidates correctly defined relay race, in (ii) candidates also gave examples of relay race and in (iii) candidates also mentioned classes of track events in athletics. 

In part (b) (i) candidates also correctly listed officials for field events in athletics and in (ii) candidates also stated instances a throw is invalid in shot put event.

In part (c) (i) candidates correctly stated similarities between 100m race and 400m hurdle race in athletics.  In part (c) (ii) candidates also gave the divisions athletics and in (iii) candidates correctly named the head of officiating officials for track event in athletics.
