(ii) Name the three lines on a football field [3 marks]

(b)  State seven instances in which the referee blows the whistle in volleyball game.  [7 marks]
(c)  State five duties of a referee in basketball game. [5 marks]

Observation

 

 

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair.

In part (a) (i) candidates correctly named lines on a  football field and in (a) (ii) candidates also correctly mentioned lines on a football field. 

In part (b) candidates could not state instances in which the referee blows the whistle in a volleyball game.

 In part (c) candidates could not state duties of a referee in basketball game.

-      penalty kick

-          indirect free kick
-          kick off

(b)       INSTANCES IN WHICH THE REFEREEE BLOWS THE WHISTLE IN A VOLLEYBALL GAME

-           at the start of the game

-           whenever a player touches the net with any part of the body
-           when a player reaches over the net to spike/play the ball

-          examines the score board and approves the score at the end of each half
