Candidates' Weakness

Some of the weaknesses identified in the report were candidates’ inability to:

• give accurate readings which can be traced to improper components layout;
• use measuring instruments appropriately;
• solder joints properly leading to short circuit.

Suggested Remedies

It was suggested that Candidates should:

• be taught how to properly translate a circuit diagram into component layouts;
• be more dynamic in the use of measuring instruments;
• familiarize themselves with soldering and the use of solderless boards.
