Observation

The candidates were asked to make a pictorial sketch of a bolster.  Very few candidates attempted this question and they could not draw the tool correctly.

Candidates were expected to:

i.          sketch the bolster using freehand;
ii.         sketch the pictorial view;
iii.        sketch for proportionality;
iv.        sketch the handle;
vi.        sketch the body;
vii.       sketch the striking end;
viii.      sketch the cutting edge;
ix.        sketch the body thickness;
x.         sketch neatly.
