Observation

The candidates were required to make a pictorial sketch of a straight snip.  Some of the candidates who attempted the question performed well.  However, some of the student could not draw correctly, they drew plier instead.

Candidates were expected to:

i sketch a straight snip;

ii sketch in pictorial view;

iii.       sketch to proportion;
iv.        sketch the handles A/B and thicknesses;
v.         sketch the striking ends;
vi.        sketch the cutting edges;
vii.       sketch the rivet;
viii.      show good line quality.
