(b)                    Roles of art museums
-           Art museums preserve ancient art works/artefacts.   
-           To collect artefacts/art works.
-           Interpret art works/artefacts.
-           Educate the public on the importance/value of the artefacts.
-           Display artefacts/artworks.
-           To acquire and keep historical values of the society.
-           It serves as a tourist centre.
-           For preservation of important documents and records.
-           To inspire artists to produce more art works.
-           For research purposes.
-           Provide job opportunity for the curators.

(c)                    Difference between an art museum and art gallery
-           An art museum is a place where ancient art works are kept, while an art gallery is a place where art works are displayed for sale.
-           Museum is owned by the government, while galleries can be owned by the government and individuals.
-           Museum keeps both historical/scientific objects, while gallery only keep artworks.
-           Museum keeps/displays/exhibits artefacts for educational purposes, while gallery keeps/displays/exhibits artworks for exhibition, sake and sales.
-           Museum promotes societal heritages while gallery provides financial assistance to individual artists.
