This question required the candidates to
(a) Explain cultural and creative arts.

(b) State any four values of cultural and creative arts to human development.

This question was popular with the candidates. But while they were able to explain cultural and creative arts, though disjointedly in some cases, they were unable to properly articulate its values to human development.

Some of the following responses were expected from candidates:
It provides for aesthetic satisfaction as it pleases the sense of sight
It serves as means of expression as one communicates through the works of art.
It helps the individuals to acknowledge and appreciate one's own culture and other people's culture.
It contributes to the all-round development of the growth of the child, i.e. socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically.
It helps to serve as means of social commentary.
It helps to serve as means of social control.
It is used for religious purposes.
It is used for secular purposes i.e. day-to-day activities e.g. entertainment, etc.
It contributes economically by providing a means of livelihood and self employment.
